A Reason to Live: FREE through Monday, August 6

Get your make-believe wallets out, because my debut crime fiction novel, A Reason to Live, is FREE through Monday, August 6th on Amazon!

The sale is partially because of ARTL’s departure from the KDP Select program, but also because the sequel, Blueblood, should be hitting the streets in 2-3 weeks. There wouldn’t be a better time to grab a copy of the first book for that beach vacation, morning commute, or evening arm-chair routine with a glass of wine by your side.

In the late nineties, a bad cop killed a good woman and DC Homicide detective Marty Singer got to watch as the murderer walked out of the courtroom a free man.

Twelve years later, the victim’s daughter comes to Marty begging for help: the killer is stalking her now.

There’s just one problem: Marty’s retired…and he’s retired because he’s battling cancer. But with a second shot at the killer–and a first chance at redemption–Marty’s just found A Reason to Live.

“…a riveting and entertaining read. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.”
– Karen Cantwell, author of the Barbara Marr mystery series (Take the Monkeys and Run)

“…several nights I read until I couldn’t keep my eyes open.”
– Misha Crews, author of Still Waters and Homesong

“That was a hell of a ride! I loved it!”
– Angie H., Lilac Wolf Reviews

“…I found the book both engrossing and inspiring.”
– Roberta Karchner, Amazon Top 50 Reviewer, 5 star review

Review it!
Tell your friends! Tell your family! And if you enjoy what you’ve read, I’d be incredibly grateful for a review at one or all of these fine web sites:

A Reason to Live…free until midnight, August 6th!

In other news, many thanks to mystery author Ellis Vidler over at the Unpredictable Muse, who asked me to participate in her First Friday exercise.

The idea: she gives one photograph to three writers and gives them 150 words to describe their thoughts, emotions, and predictions for the story behind the picture. Take a look at the one she gave me, to the right, and then go to the Unpredictable Muse to see what I wrote!

And when you’re done, think about what you might’ve put down. It’s a wonderful writing exercise; the ideas and possibilities that spring out of one simple composition will have your imagination heading for fifth gear.

Writer of crime fiction, psychological drama, and dark humor.
